The trials and tribulations of an adventurous modern mom
“Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it”. - Roald Dahl
This winter has proved to be a test of mental strength. It has been one of the coldest in decades and we are only about half way through. I have to admit, I’ve been grumpy and peeved about how brutally cold it has been. But as my mother always reminds me “There is nothing you can do about the weather”. So today, I decided to make a change and attempt to write for the next few weeks, what I am most grateful for.
Instead of being grumpy about the weather I need to face it, there is so much in life to be grateful for. Now is time to remind myself of it when we have gone through so many sub-zero days and winter illnesses. So here goes nothing. Day 1.
What I am grateful for is LIFE.
I am grateful to simply be alive and enjoying life. I’m grateful to live a life that I want. There are not many people who have that luxury. I need to remind myself and be utterly thankful. I need to ensure that I continue to give back to others in need. Through my volunteer work. Through my voice. Through a simple smile to a stranger. For life is precious and there is so much to be thankful for.
What about you? What are you grateful for ?
